Chess Openings: Learn NOT to Play the Crab Opening!
The 4 Rules (Or Steps) of The Opening! https://youtu.be/KLSwWccXYo0
In today’s video we go over the Crab Opening, which I don’t exactly recommend in tournament games, but is a ton of fun! In chess, you want to fight for center of the board. That is why the most popular opening moves are e4, d4, and c4! Sometimes the Bird’s Opening is a good option as well. However, it’s not good to play a move like a4 or h4, pushing on the edge of the board, where you don’t get much accomplished in terms of development or activity of the pieces. However, in today’s video we go over the Crab Opening, which does exactly that! Even as it’s not the best way to start a chess game, it can help with your chess improvement! When playing the Crab Opening, it’s important to play good defensive chess, keep the position closed, and prioritize king safety. Which, are all good lessons in chess! One thing is for sure, when prepared, don’t mess with the Crab Opening! This is an opening you can play to mess with your friends, and have some fun playing chess!
